COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a treatment approach that teaches us how are thoughts, emotions and behaviors are connected and how they affect one another. Cognitive behavioural therapy focuses on developing coping strategies that target solving current problems and challenging and changing cognitive distortions and behaviours.
HOLISTIC APPROACH
I strongly believe it is important to provide support that looks at the whole person and not just focusing on mental health issues but rather considering the person's overall wellness ( physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing)
MINDFULNESS
Harris (2007) “Consciously bringing awareness to your here and now experience, with openness, interest and receptiveness.”
TRAUMA INFORMED APPROACH
I recognize the widespread prevalence of trauma and the significant impact it has on individual's physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. I believe in supporting individuals to heal and avoid re-traumatization through empowerment and choice within the therapeutic process. I focus on the strengths and resiliency of individuals who have experienced trauma
